As is tradition whenever we take a trip to an exotic foreign land, our first order of business is to immediately embed ourselves into the culture by finding the nearest pizza restaurant. This is relatively easy to do since pizza is so ubiquitous. No matter where you are on Earth, and possibly in the solar system, there is always a pizza restaurant nearby. In our case, we had one called Pizza Napoli just a 5-minute walk from our Airbnb in Grecia, Costa Rica.
We ordered pizza from Pizza Napli three times during our stay in Costa Rica and were never disappointed. Our two go-to pizzas were the Margherita (which was basically a cheese pizza) and the Vegetarian with jalapeno added. One delightful surprise about the Vegetarian is that it had hearts of palm.
Despite having other pizza places nearby, we stuck with Pizza Napoli because a) the pizza was very good, and b) the staff were very nice and very patient with bumbling gringos who barely speak Spanish.
