BumbleBee Movie Review

Movie Review: BumbleBee (2018)

I’ve never been much into the Transformers movies, but this one caught my eye because it looked quite a bit different than what I’d come to expect from the franchise. I shelved it away in a corner of my mind to maybe check out one day, but then I came across a few reviews about how funny and downright sweet it is that I had to add it to my active watch list. I’m glad I did.

BumbleBee is a heartfelt little movie in a big blockbuster disguise, that seems to fit at times like it’s a little oversized for the wearer. And yet, that’s okay. Somehow, it’s cute.

All the performances were great. The dialogue is snappy, the characters are well realized and, damn, does John Cena doesn’t perfectly fit the roll of a “bad guy” in a PG-13 movie.

I’d recommend giving this a shot even if the previous Transformers movies aren’t really your bag.
