If you’ve been looking for a recipe that is so easy to make you could possibly even make it by accident* then you’ve come to the right place! I call this dish “Microwaved Eggs in a Mug” because I’m a creative genius.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Two eggs. I typically use chicken eggs, but two eggs from any egg-generating beast will probably do. However you may need to adjust a few things to accommodate different types of eggs. For example, if you use two ostrich eggs you might want to swap your mug for a 5 gallon drum**.
- A Mug***. If you don’t have a mug, any small ceramic cup with a looped handle will do.
- A microwave oven. If you don’t have a microwave oven you can build one by following these simple instructions from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
- Whatever spices you like. I keep things simple by using only salt and pepper but you can add whatever you prefer such as chili powder, saffron, sugar, cocaine, etc.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Put the two eggs in the mug, Make sure you only put the INSIDE of the eggs into the mug, not the shell.
- Add your spices.
- Whisk the eggs and spices together with a whisk or fork, which we are only now realizing we forgot to mention in the “What You’ll Need” section.
- Microwave the eggs for 2 minutes.
- Once done, feel free to add whatever that other stuff is in the stock photo above. Are those peas? Okay, maybe don’t add that.
- Eat and enjoy****!
* “These eggs taste great! How did you make them?”…”I tripped in the kitchen and the next thing I knew I had a mug full of delicious eggs…”
** You’ll need a much larger microwave oven, too.
*** As mentioned in “What You’ll Need” Section #1.
**** Unless you don’t like eggs, and if not, then what the hell are you even reading this for?
